при этом разрешение у меня сейчас 640х480. Бида.Идеи?

Вы сами хоть эту фигню читали? Где написано, что драйвер nvidia? Причём здесь "Xorg -configure"?

А что делать системе, если вы какую-то фигню написали? Берёт стандарт... Из запаса...
Не, вы напишите чётко мой вариант и скажите, что не вышло. Вместе подправим.

Для того что бы не сбрасывался xorg.conf помогло обновление драйверов:
[console]sudo apt-add-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa[/console]
[console]sudo apt-get update[/console]
[console]sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-settings[/console]
И собственно исправление тиринга наконец сработало:

конфиг сбрасывается

kirillov3798, вы man nvidia-xconfig читали? А это он, между прочим, при повторном вызове делает резервную копию xorg.conf и создает файл заново.

Разве /etc/X11/xorg.conf не основной конфиг?

Это нормально и правильно. Как раз в случае Optimus удобно иметь несколько конфигов, для каждой карточки свой, настройки иксов в части раскладок клавиатуры мыши лежат отдельно от настроек видеокарт.
