Насторойка разрешения экрана. Нужна помощь.

На первый взгляд проблема кажется простой, но после 3 вечеров с Гуглом я ее так и не смог решить. Поэтому прошу помощи.

Вобщем проблема с разрешением монитора:
Система - Mint 13
Стоит разрешение 1152*864
Нужно 1208*1024
Vонитор Dell E190S(1280*1024 для него штатное) Выход на нем только VGA.
Пробовал по инструкции: http://www.linuxrussia.com/2013/08/xrandr-linux-ubuntu.html
На сколько я понимаю, на этапе

Сначала этого файла не было вобще, но после манипуляций с драйверами nVidia(ставил разные версии) он появился.
