Итак, хочу установить к примеру пакет Opera

снесите оперу потому как она сейчас висит как пакет с запорченньіми зависимостями и апт-гет не успокоится пока зависимости не уловлетворит...
или после какого пакета сие началось? может еще до оперы?

Репозиторий ссылается на один и тот же пакет - http://deb.opera.com/opera/pool/non-free/o/opera/opera_12.02.1629_i386.deb. Можно вручную загрузить-поставить deb-пакет с сайта Opera. Версию браузера можно выбрать постарее.
UPD: разработчики пакета не учитывают зависимости для разных версий дистрибутива?
И да, при чем здесь mysql, samba, winbind???

Нужно убрать лишние репозитории и обновиться. Но, ИМХО, поставить Оперу это все равно не поможет.

Дело не в opera, дело в работоспособности apt-get! Я к примеру пакет оперы ставил, НО так со всеми пакетами...

asadula, вы сами создали свои проблемы. Вам говорят дело: Приведите в порядок sources.list. А вы не хотите слушать. Вообще правило хорошего тона: делать бэкапы конфигов перед правкой. Даже если вы уверены, что вы СУПЕР-МЕГА-ХАКЕР... :)

Хотя может быть, если вы редактировали sources.list один раз, то предыдущая версия сохранилась как sources.list~

арп-гет роботоспособен на все сто!
именно поєтому он и ругается на бардак с пакетами от разных дистров! так как у вас похоже зацепило libc то это проблематично...
попробуйте через dpkg удалить конфликтные пакеты, паралельно записывая что еще снеслось... потом наведя порядок в списке репозитариев, апдейтится и установите все заново...
если список велик и сносится почти все то лучше поставить апгрейдом 12.04 или сохраните список установленных пакетов через dpkg --get-selections установите дистр с нуля а потом через dpkg --set-selections доустановите необходимые пакеты.
