"Выбрасывает" при логине

OS: Ubuntu 12.04
Ситуация следующая. Установил видеодрайвер вручную, после этого начались ужасные тормоза. Затем драйвер был удален, или возможно где то остался в системе, и был установлен другой драйвер, в результате установки которого, я не могу попасть в свою домашнюю директорию (т.е. залогиниться под своей учёткой). Захожу в гостевую всё нормально, тормозов нет.
Значит что делал... Устанавливал вручную драйвер по этому мануалу

а также удалял по нему. Проводил различные эксперименты с xorg.conf в различных вариациях, как по мануалу, так и по дефолту и удалению его полностью. Но проблему так и не удалось устранить. Подскажите в чём может быть проблема?

Может есть какие то другие варианты "безболезненного обновления" всей системы? Мне нужно сохранить(восстановить\извлечь) конфиги программ и закладки браузера), ради чего, весь этот кипиш)

Судя по всему был драйвер nouveau, Вы поставили nvidia. В конфиге Иксов где-то ещё прописан драйвер nouveau (nv):

Если под другим пользователем входит, а под нужным нет, попробуйте проверить файлы ~/.xsession и ~/.xinitc на наличие мусора.

Драйвер nouveau не нашёл. Может не там искал. По шрифтам тоже не нашёл как их под убунту заинсталить. Файлы ~/.xsession и ~/.xinitc вообще отсутствуют в моей системе, максимум что удалось найти это ~/.xsession-errors.
Драйвера NVIDIA удалил полностью из системы, забил в xorg.conf дефолтные параметры, почистил /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf "от рекомендуемых значений", но по прежнему нихрена толком не изменилось. Меня как "дропало" из моей учетки так и "дропает". Х3 что и думать...

Я не такой уж специалист, но тут явно проблема в пользовательских конфигурациях (т.е. в тех что в ~/). Это я к тому что, можно попробовать пошерстить конфиги, может что и всплывёт.

При переустановке Иксов, Вы в принципе ничего не теряете ^^

это когда я пытаюсь авторизоваться через такую менюшку extremetech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/ubuntu-11.10-login-crop.jpg, и в результате чего гаснет экран и через 2-3 секунды "выбрасывает" обратно в меню для авторизации)))

Судя по логу, Иксы пытаются использовать драйвер nvidia который отсутствует. Скопируйте содержимое /etc/X11/xorg.conf сюда.

Очень странно что NVIDIA висит здесь:'/lib/modules/3.2.0-26-generic-pae/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko' и вообще в системе. Удалял её ключом sudo apt-get purge nvidia-*. Хотя я пробовал ставить другие NVIDIA-драйвера и приложения к свой видюшке, может их как то по особенному нужно было удалить) и сейчас из-за этого происходит конфликт)

В том то и дело, что драйверов nVidia не осталось (т.е. удалились они успешно). Вот только почему-то Иксы упорно пытаются использовать их (скорее всего где-то в конфиге прописаны). Я сам Ubuntu плохо знаю, попробуйте sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, по идее это должно сбросить настройки.

УРА! Всё получилось. Всё было гораздо проще) Всё лежало перед глазами)):
