Я сделал так - из консоли

и вставил в xorg.conf , который в /etc/X11 лежит. В нём правильные разрешения прописаны были в секциях "Monitor" и "Screen"
Всё это я проделал в сэйвфайл моде, он нормально грузился. Можно и в консоли, но такое не осилил ещё :D
step_slim, пишет что установка пошла частично, пробовал насколько с той страницы :( и не появляется. Стоит заморачиваться с установкой дров с оффсайта? Мануала для 11.3 все равно еще нету, а без пошаговых инструкций черт ногу сломит
Ах, да, извиняюсь, предистория - проблемы после обновления системы, в ходе обновления были удалены дрова ATI и система стартанула в консоль. Удалил остатки дров ATI, установил драйвер radeon ну и вышесказанное. Возможно, удаление старого xorg.conf решило бы проблему тоже. Система при загрузке после обновления пыталась грузить fglrx , а его уже не было.

Не стоит моё мнение потому что:
1. После каждого обновления ядра придётся переустанавливать драйвер (а система только выпушенная, ядро будет обновлятся пару раз)
2. Пока нет внятной инструкции по инсталу этих дровишек, а эксперименты проводить- удел энтузиастов, которые хоть немного разбираются во внутренних процессах системы.
3. Не так долго ждать, я думаю от силы неделю до появления репазитариев с модулями ядра.

Коллега, немного не в тему, у ТК, как я понял вообще xorg.conf в системе отсутствует и Ваш вариант немного не подойдёт для решения, всё зависит от модели карты. Я Вам предлагаю тут разместить пошаговый мануал по настройки именно под Вашу карту.

придется подождать и каждый раз выставлять нужное разрешение, а дальше http://opensuse-community.org/ati.ymp пробовать буду как появится репозитарий ати

Если конечно у вас нет ничего жизненно Важного на компьютере, то можете провести эксперимент, но я думаю не стоит. Мой вам совет, поставьте пока 11.2 и примерно через 1-2 месяца просто обновитесь, и нервов больше сбережёте и без проблем получите уже бкатанную систему, я всегда накатываю обновления спустя несколько месяцев на систему. wink
да вот поставил качать, наверное так и сделаю. Вот только нагуглю как мне кде до 4.4.4 правильно обновить. А то больше понравились хоть и чуточку глючат. Заодно попробую с репо поставить АТИ драйвера

:( поставил дрова, теперь и у меня упал kwin, а другого менеджера под рукой нету, не могу между окнами перейти да и терминал не могу запустить чтобы команду прописать su -c 'SaX2 -r -m 0=fglrx' . В консоле на нее ругается. (ctrl+alt+f7). Повезло что оставил перед перезагрузкой открытым браузер так бы и его не открыл.
Скобочки не заметил, вот попробовал так. Перезагрузился дописал single во время загрузки, набрал команду а дальше ошибка и указание смотреть лог

а это с того мануала сначала взял, легкий способ. Потом уже понял. Сейчас пишу с 11.2 уже.

Ды ёмаё, под 11.2 есть репазитарий, подключите его и не нужно ничего ставить и прописывать, система сама скачает драйвер и всё настроит без sax.

Проприетарные драйвера для видеокарт ATI. Прочтите Инструкцию по установке драйверов ATI.
Вот я добавил, потом нажал на Установить драйвера ATI последней версии(чего уже сейчас понял что делать не надо было), перезагрузился и полетело все. Как вернуть все на место?

Так начнём сначала, Вы подключили репазитарий, установили драйвера, либо Вы прочли инструкцию и ставили с офф. сайта?
Вот установка в один клик : http://opensuse-community.org/ati.ymp Просто счёлкните по этой ссылки, откроется окно добавления репазитория через Yast, соглашайтесь со всем, что скажет система, потом она скачает и поставит сама драйвер- никаких sax не нужно, система сама всё сделает, потом перезагрузка.
Сначала через яст удалил radeonhd, потом по ссылке http://ru.opensuse.org/%D0%94%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B5_%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%B7%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8_YaST#.D0.92.D0.B8.D0.B4.D0.B5.D0.BE.D0.B4.D1.80.D0.B0.D0.B9.D0.B2.D0.B5.D1.80.D1.8B_ATI добавил репозаитарий и перешел на http://ru.opensuse.org/ATI страницу, кликнул установить драйвер в один клик потом начались пляски с консолью с неправильной командой, потом подумал может перезагрузить - перезагрузился и "уронил" kwin

я по этой ссылке и ставил, вот в логе установки мельком под конец увидел надпись о том что не видит поддерживаемых карт :( Установить драйвера ATI версии 8.40.0 (Display driver files for the ATI RADEON (9500 and later), MOBILITY RADEON (M9 and later), RADEON XPRESS IGP and FireGL series of graphics graphics accelerators.) этот трогать и не стал. Выходит все таки только radeonhd без оpengl

Что сейчас именно с системой происходит, о поддержки 3D квина можете сразу забыть, а вот без него стабильная работа должна быть.
