Низкое разрешение экрана в OpenSuse 12.3

Здравствуйте, вчера установил на свой компьютер OpenSuse 12.3. После установки максимально возможное разрешение экрана составляло 1024х768, Это далеко не самое большое разрешение для моего ПК (видеокарта Nvidia Geforce 9600GT, Монитор Acer V173). Я решил установить видеодрайвер. Драйвер устанавливал по следующей инструкции : http://ru.opensuse.org/SDB:%D0%94%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%B2%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%8B_NVIDIA с помошью zypper.

Разрешение не поменялось. Тогда я решил поставить драйвера с официального сайта Nvidia. Перед установкой занес nouveau в blacklist и отключил X-сервер

Затем установил драйвер NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.20.run

после этого максимальное разрешение экрана стало 640х480.

Если удалить драйвер NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.20.run то Х-сервер не поднимается. Какую ошибку выдает я к сожалению не помню, Драйвер вроде установлен корректно.

Если как по инструкции, то попробуйте выполнить в консоли суперпользователя:

nvidia-xconfig

А ещё лучше:

text
nvidia-settings

Там пункт X Server Display configuration
И нажать кнопку:
Save to X configuration file...
Перезагрузить ПК... или перезапустить X сервер...

Это может помочь.. и решить часть проблем помимо этой.
Проверьте этот вариант, после ... если не поможет, попробуйте совет 24.

Вариант не противоречит совету 24.
Дополняет его(постустановочные действия частного характера).
Там лишь проверенный метод установки драйвера без сюрпризов. Чтобы не было вопросов, что что-то было упущено, а они всегда имеются.

5iver, помню была такая проблемка ([РЕШЕНО] Проблемы с отображением рабочего стола в openSUSE 12.3). Зайдите сюда. Скачайте файл для установки в один клик, установите, добавьте себя в группу video:

# usermod -a -G video имя_пользователя

и перезагрузитесь! Все должно заработать.

Не написал в 1 посте, что пользователь и так в группе video. Проблема остается.

Выполнил совет №24 из этой темы http://linuxforum.ru/viewtopic.php?id=26412. Не помогло в nvidia-settings максимальное разрешение все равно 640х480. Xrandr выдает тоже самое.

В том, что безопасность дистрибутива на нуле. Команда чтения /etc/group в нормальных условиях требует прав суперпользователя. И еще, cat+grep уже проходили, так делать нерационально. Достаточно grep.

Да я про 13 пост. Сейчас еще раз все проверил и обнаружил в в секции Screen вот такую записть

Удалил её, перезагрузился и наконец-то все заработало. Большое спасибо Вам и всем кто помогал мне.
Получается проблема была в том что
