Не могу понять в чём дело, после установки системы, установил дрова nvidia, всё было в порядке до поры до времени, но где-то через неделю, после установки дров видео, на компьютере невозможно стало работать - браузер еле двигается, вообщем все процессы на компе замедленны, Сразу не обратил на это внимания т.к. комп по значимости второй, чаще пользуюсь дебианом. А в последнее время нужно на нём кое что поделать и это не представляется возможным с такими тормозами. Запускаю glxgears, показывает 20 fps, только что поставил последние дрова NVIDIA-Linux-х86-295.40.run, после этого показывает fps=5, даже сейчас пишу и буквы с мал. задержкой появляются. Логотип NVIDIA после установки проскакивал, в приложениях присутствует утилита NVIDIA X Server Settngs т.е. всё говорит о том, что дрова установлены, а комп работает, в точности, как без драйвера видео.

Эффекты отключил, но раньше и с ними и с компизом система летала, сейчас при последней переустановке компиз не ставил за ненадобностью, а в этой конфигурации компа система оч. шустро работала

Эффекты отключил
И как теперь? После отключения эффектов и на всякий случай перезагрузки компьютера.
После перезагркзки стал пошустрее, fps=60, но по-моему система работала всё равно быстрее и с эффектами. Но сейчас хоть можно что-то делать.

Если захотите увидеть типа таких цифр, то отключите вертикальную синхронизацию(если конечно не нужна):
