Вот как-то так

InVariable, что нибудь связанное с av_dbd есть? я так понял у него еще есть отдельный лог. И там так же пусто ?
хотелось бы узнать, есть ли наличие самих файлов или подобных?

/etc/init.d/rc3.d/S08av_dbd
/etc/init.d/rc3.d/K01av_dbd
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S08av_dbd
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/K01av_dbd

insserv: Loading K01av_osmp

вот эти есть, а вот S(K)av_dbd я что то не увидил.

Естественно их нет так как

Я так понимаю они там появляются после этой команды - а она не работает....
В логе сервиса всё хорошо - лог идёт...

InVariable, нет, они сами не появляются, их надо создать, аналогично тем что у вас на другой системе,, почитайте о System startup script в linux, в SUSE возможно это будет некий симлинк, проверить легко:

ls -l /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/

сам же скрипт лежит вот здесь: /etc/init.d/

создайте симлинк с помощью команды ln -s , и попытайтесь включить службу =)

да и еще, для примера посмотрите на содержание других скриптов.
