To resolve this problem, edit the /root/.xauth/export file and add 'root' to the list of users. The final version of this file should appear as follows:
# cat /root/.xauth/export
suse-ncc
root
Alternative method to resolve:
-zypper in libgnomesu-1.0.0-307.5.12
-Take option 1 to downgrade the package
-Logout, then back in and it should work.
