Здравствуйте. Сегодня весь вечер по вашим постам ставил драйверы на видео карту NVIDIA GT240M. ноутбук lenovo y550. ничего не получилось. :(
Хотя в Mandrive 2010.2 все встало с первого раз!!! И проблем не было.
Сейчас на ноутбуке стоит Mageia 64-битная. Система обновлена. ядро 2.6.38.8-desktop-4.mga.
Выдаёт ошибку:" NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia0 (Input/output error)."
Пробовал установку на ядро 2.6.38.7-desktop-1.mga - выдаёт ошибку:"The proprietary drive for you graphic card cannot be found, the system in now using the free sooftware driver (nouveau).
Reason: прориетарный драйвер ядра не найден для драйвера X.org 'nvidia' ".

Помогите разобраться

rpm -qa | grep nvidia[/console]

В любом случае нужно включить non-free источники (по умолчанию отключены) в менеждере источников в MCC.

Честно говоря, я не пойму, что мешает нормальной работе драйвера.
Галочки на репозиториях non-free поставил перед обновлением системы и установки драйвера.

p.s. сегодня по новой на чистый ноутбук установил Mageia i586.
поставил на всех необходимых источниках галочки.
обновил систему.
перегрузил систему.
установил драйвер по выше описанным пунктам.
результат тоже.
После загрузки системы - иксы не запустили!!!
Ошибку выдал одну и ту же: "NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia0 (Input/output error)"

кстати, нашёл в инет, что 275.09.07 стабильная версия с исправленными ошибками.

nokmsboot в загрузку добавляли?
Если нет - добавьте. И пропишите это на постоянной основе в menu.lst, можно сделать в графике в MCC - загрузка - настройка загрузки

Драйвера то стоят, но грузится нуво.

нуво наверное из-за того,что сейчас с этого ноута в инете.
вопрос на засыпку nokmsboot в каждой строке - это нормально???
обнаружил когда полез исправлять menu.lst
сейчас настройки xorg.conf верну в исходное состояние и перезагружу.
чуть позже отпишу, что получилось

В строке опций ядра, с которого загружаетесь: (можно каждый раз вручную в груб, но лучше на постоянку)

Это просто пример куда вносить опцию. (у меня эта мандрива стоит на третьем по порядку разделе на первом жестком диске)
Кстати по поводу файла xorg никогда его не редактирую вручную (возможно хороший совет)

Я не нашел другого способа иксы запустить. Это была крайняя мера.
Да и проблема возникла до моего вмешательства в xorg.

Что-то я тоже не могу победить эту nouveau. Установил вроде всё, что нужно:

Все сделал по вышеописанной методике. nv подцепляется, а проприетарные - нет, вместо него цепляется nouveau. Предложение установить проприетарные драйверы не появляется. На 2010.2 все эти действия давали положительный результат.

Вам current - не нужен. Ваша карта работает на 96-м драйвере.
Сделайте от root :
[console]nvidia-xconfig[/console]
и перезагрузитесь

При загрузке надолго зависает. В подробном режиме пишет, что устанавливает модуль nvidia96xx, ставит точки.... и в конце пишет: "bad exit status 10".
