xorg.conf нет, создал пустой.

сделал # Xorg -configure, появилось сообщение open /dev/fb0 No such file or directory.

сделал X -config /root/xorg.conf.new , вверху на экране появились красные круги неправильной формы и все.

Видимо у меня не верно прописаны строчки в make.conf:

VIDEO_CARDS="vesa fbdev intel v41"
INPUT_DEVICES="synaptics mouse keyboard evdev"

Как мне удалить Х-сы и xfce, а затем исправить make.conf и уже по новой установить Х-сы?
И что указать в этих строчках?

Не надо ничего удалять, просто измени строчки в make.conf и:

Чем отличается xorg-x11 от xorg-server?
При вводе команд emerge -pv xorg-x11 и emerge -pv xorg-server
я получаю разные выводы, первый для установки требует 68 пакетов, а второй установлен, какой мне нужен?

xorg-x11 много лишнего поставит.

Зачем удалять?

Все выполнил, ничего не поменялось, после : X -config /root/xorg.conf.new
Х-сы не запустились, вышел в консоль, там 3 ошибки:

(EE) Query no Synaptics: 6003C8
(EE) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware

P.S. qlist — утилита из пакета app-portage/portage-utils.

Если не лень, покажите /var/log/Xorg.0.log после загрузки с моим конфигурационным файлом.
То есть попробуйте так:

emerge -av twm xterm

Теперь от пользователя

[ -f ~/.xinitrc ] && mv ~/.xinitrc{,.old}; echo -e 'xterm &\nexec twm' > ~/.xinitrc
text

startx

...и после этого покажите /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Я пользователя еще не создавал, пока все от рута.

Можно и от root'а, но!... если нет возможности скопировать команду, просто создайте в каталоге /root файл .xinitrc следующего содержания

Прошу прощения, не получается, Gentoo сейчас без интернета, а надо emerge -av twm xterm, требует несколько пакетов, которых в моих distfiles нет.

А если я скопирую ваш xorg.conf в /root/xorg.conf.new и затем выполню X -config /root/xorg.conf.new ?

Так проще уж сразу в /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Если после запуска

startx

останется только чёрный экран, попробуйте выйти обратно в консоль по Ctrl+Alt+←.

Все выполнил, Х-сы не загрузились, даже не было как раньше, вверху экрана цветных кругов, вывелись ошибки и автоматом вышел в консоль, что теперь лог выложить?
