Хочу установить программу,скачал файл tar.gz.
Пишу в консоли tar -xvvzf file.tar.gz
Он пишет:
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

tar -zxvf file_tar.gz
Вот это помогло,но потом.
когда пишу ./configure он пишет no such file or directory
и при make No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop
не вошли в директорию поэтому no such file or directory
root:#cd '/root/network-manager-pptp'
root:~/network-manager-pptp# ./configure
bach: ./configure No such file or directory
что не так?
а куда распаковали network-manager-pptp?
и может там не надо ./configure делать
может сразу make & make install
прочитайте файлы INSTALL или README (что будет)
там сказано как и что ставится...
Распаковал на раб.стол
make:

Другие программы тоже так распаковывал и все устанавливалось

Терминал должен быть открыт внутри директории.
Ну,зашел в папку ту,открыл терминал вписал cd /root/network-manager-pptp
Все те же ошибки
тут самое время выругаться добротным матом.... и какого вас понесло в /root/network-manager-pptp ??

она стандартная:
tar -zxvf file_tar.gz
cd /распакованная_директория
./configure
make
make install
