Про настройку сетевого интерфейса

Не настраивается сетевая карта в Debian 6.0.3
есть только терминал
проверял наличие сетевой карты
[console]dmesg | grep eth[/console]
нашел - [ 1.256829] eth0: RealTek RTL8139 at 0xde00
далее пробую настроить интерфейс
[console]sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces[/console]
прописываю
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.12
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1
Сохраняю
в итоги
ifconfig lo и т.д.

после reboot и норм

после ребута
ifup: couldn't read interfaces file "/etc/network/interfaces oO

Вывод:

cat /etc/network/interfaces

А заодно
[console]ls -l /etc/network/interfaces[/console]

и вот это:
[console]
ethtool -i eth0
[/console]

[console]ethtool: команда не найдена[/console]

[console]ls -l /etc/network/interfaces

Ошибки исправь, должно быить так:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.12
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

отработает корректно ли?
[console]/sbin/ifconfig 192.168.0.12/24 up [/console]
